The Friends group hosts events throughout the year. From concerts in the Amphitheater, storytime for the children, to informative programs and events. Here is a list of upcoming events.

First Day Hike at Buckhorn State Park
Thursday January 1st 2026

Meet at the South picnic shelter to hike the Central Sands Trail. The Friends of Buckhorn will provide hot chocolate, campfire and treats after the hike. Pets on leashes are allowed. If there is enough snow, bring snowshoes or pairs will be available to check out. This trail is level and accessible and about 1.4 mile. The track chair can be reserved at Buckhorn State Park for use on the hike.
This event is weather-dependent.
